Vince Speciale celebrates 48 years of working in the United States!
On April 7, 2015 Vince celebrated his 48th year of working in the United States. Vince came to us from Palermo, Sicily, Italy in 1967 to work for Redwood & Ross. Though the names have changed over the years Vince has been a fixture in the Fort Wayne clothing community. We’re proud to call him our tailor and even more proud to call him our friend!

Keep Your Cool When It’s Hot in Fort Wayne with Flynt and Ibiza Soft Coats
For guys who love a good sport coat, summer poses a sartorial problem: how does one wear the always-dapper garment without sweating to death? The answer: soft coats.
Soft coats are partially lined or unlined jackets, and are commonly made of seersucker, linen, cotton or another lightweight fabric. The lighter fabric and absence of a lining makes a soft coat more breathable, and thus more comfortable when the temperature starts to climb.
Less material on the inside means a soft coat isn’t as structured as your typical wool suit jacket. Instead, a soft coat drapes over the body, and produces a less dramatic shape. This is a classic warm weather style because a guy can look put-together and not risk melting in the sun.
Interestingly, a soft coat actually takes longer to make than a regular sport coat or suit jacket. Because it has no lining (or less lining), all of its seams are exposed, and it takes significantly more time and craftsmanship to make the seams clean than it does to cover them up with a liner. And this is important, because you want to throw your jacket over the back of your chair and not worry about flashing a big, patchy mess of thread.
