  1. Cathy:

I really appreciate all of help over the past few years. You’re a pro and a pleasure to work with!

    Best Wishes,

    Don Banowetz

  2. Dear Cathy,
Thanks for your many warm smiles, good service, and overall kindness in your many years working with Chris and crew. You will be missed, to be sure.
Best to you in your retirement and best of health to you for years to come.
    God’s choicest blessings to you!

  3. Oh Cathy! How is John going to be able to dress without your “garanimals” advice? Good thing the IPhone takes pictures so we can send to you and ask if that tie goes with that shirt!! Just kidding…we will not stalk you!

I hope you know how much we have valued your expertise and friendship through these many years. It is always hard to say goodbye but also happy that you and Mitch are going to enjoy a life of leisure in a brand new home! Who could ask for more?

    All the best!

  4. I enjoyed working with you all these years. You were always so sharp-cheerful, positive, and very helpful to me buying clothes for my husband and gifts for others. Wishing you the very best for now and the future. I will miss you. Jenine Burkhardt

  5. Cathy,

As one who has recently started to slouch into retirement away from Fort Wayne, I can appreciate that you are departing with mixed feelings. The good news is you don’t have to put up with Chris any more!! The bad news is you will miss the warm camaraderie that was so much a part of CJ’s interaction with its band of loyal customers.Speaking personally, I have thoroughly enjoyed working with you on an endless number of sartorial accouterments over the years. Shopping here in Santa Fe just isn’t the same since I miss your smiling face and congenial manner. I send my best wishes for a happy and healthy retirement.

    Mick Parrott

P.S. I know Debbie and Erik will take good care of your lovely home.

  6. Hi Cathy: Please say it ain’t so! I was in Fort Wayne for a client golf outing and dinner about 6-7 years ago and discovered that I forgot to pack dress pants. I stumbled into CJ a few hours before the dinner, and you outfitted me in no time with a great pair of slacks AND twisted the arm of some tailor to hem them, getting me there for the end of the cocktail party. I come back for the tournament almost every year, and as you will recall, stop in for a wardrobe upgrade guided by your impeccable sense of style and candor regarding what looks good. That field has narrowed someone as I hit 60, but you have served me well and my visits just won’t be the same. But tell Chris not to worry, I will still come in, as CJ is better than any men’s store in Boston, in my opinion. Finally, I don’t know how you managed to retire in your early 40’s, but nice job. CJ won’t look quite as good going forward. I wish you and Mitch many wonderful, healthy retirement years. All the best! Paul Keane

  7. Cathy; WE will surely miss your beautiful smile, along with your wonderful service. Georgia is certainly gaining a “peach” of a person. Best wishes to you and your husband! I am sorry we will not be able to attend your celebration Thursday. Regards from the Keith & Cindy Turner family

  8. Cathy – I remember you telling me this was coming, but I was hoping you had changed your mind :-). What will I do without you, and how will I pick things out for Tim?! His Christmas gifts will never be the same. You have a great sense of style and have always been able to direct me to the perfect items for Tim. I’ll miss your expertise, not to mention your friendliness and willingness to always help me.
I wish you the best – does this mean you’ll be spending your days riding?!
    I hope you’ll come visit (when it’s 120 degrees in Georgia ;-)).

  9. Dear Cathy, Thank you for your Great service and conversations over the years. We wish you all the best for a wonderful retirement & move!!
    Patty & Marty Maringer

  10. Cathy,

We are very sorry to hear this but very happy for you. Thank you for all your help through the years as CJ’s is our favorite place to buy quality and unique clothing in this area and you and everyone else who work with Chris are all first class and most helpful assisting us in the process. Again congratulations and have a great and relaxing time with your family. We will miss you.

  11. Enjoy your retirement, Cathy. I know you will be missed there. I remember a lot of Saturday mornings with you while Don picked out ties.

  12. Cathy,
Enjoy your retirement and new life in GA! I know you will enjoy the climate. Thanks for all your help over the years. I’ll always remember making a purchase and trying to get colors right during a power outage, lol. I know everyone up here in the Christopher James will miss you!
    Best Wishes,

  13. Cathy, it was a pleasure knowing you and being able to work with you. Lot of great Ft Wayne memories. All the best on your new journey.

  14. Cathy – Say it isn’t so, no way could you be retiring! It is always great seeing the regulars even though the name on the outside has changed several times through the years. Thanks for watching Ian so we could shop 20 years ago, and always having a smile, suggestion, and just plain encouragement all the years since. Best wishes – enjoy – sorry I can’t be there on Thursday to see you off!

  15. Cathy,
From sunny Florida, Sharon and I wish you the very best. It won’t be the same coming into the store and not seeing your smiling face.

  16. Cathy –

Your kind countenance and genuine goodness will surely be missed. On your new adventure may God hold you in the palm of His hand and bless you and your husband daily, giving you peace in all of your days.

  17. Cathy, Beth and I are so happy for you and Mitch. We can only hope that you enjoy the next chapter of your lives as much as we are enjoying ours. It is obvious that you will be greatly missed with your warm personality and professional manner. As a matter of fact, who will wardrobe me from now on? However, as we write our book of life we must end one chapter and start another.
Professionally speaking I have enjoyed our relationship these last 15 years. You have certainly added to the conversation and it has always been constructive. Did I really say 15 years?
    God’s blessing to you,
    Jay and Beth

  27. Cathy,

Enjoy your retirement, I think you picked a great location.
I truly thank you for all the help trying to improve my style over the years, and for telling Joushua that he has good tastes, as he normally liked the most expensive pieces in the store!
