Samuelsohn is the Made-to-Measure Designer for Men of Distinction in Fort Wayne

Samuelsohn Spring 2015

Samuelsohn Spring 2015

Today we want to talk a little bit about Samuelsohn, one of our most popular brands here at Christopher James Menswear in Fort Wayne, Indiana. We love Samuelsohn and think you should too.

Samuelsohn is one of the best made-to-measure menswear manufactures in North America, and has been an evangelist for quality and attention to detail since it began in 1923 in Canada. The company’s slogan is, “Not how many, but how fine.”

And indeed, they walk the walk. Every Samuelsohn suit and sport coat is fully canvased for durability, comfort and style (they make pants, too), and they have more than 500 luxurious fabrics for you to choose from. Their designers and merchandisers choose fabrics from European mills, and their palette includes fine wools from Italy and Great Britain, and silks, camelhairs, cashmeres and other rare and exotic fibers.

Samuelsohn is definitely for men who demand higher quality from their clothing, and favor modern styling with traditional tailoring. Our typical customer is a highly discerning man, which is likely why Samuelsohn is so popular in our store.

To see for yourself how great Samuelsohn is, come pay us a visit. We’d be more than happy to show you around.

And in fact, we are hosting a trunk show on Thursday, April 16, 2015, and Samuelsohn’s new spring 2015 collection will be featured. So, save the date!

We look forward to seeing you.

What’s New with Coppley for Spring 2015

This season, we are loving what Coppley has to offer to our dapper (and aspiring-dapper!) clientele. Their fabrics are lighter and the colors are more natural, the silhouettes are clean and the quality, like always, is top notch.

More Natural Colors
2015 is all about earthier, more grounded tones, and Coppley has adeptly executed this trend. They’ve creatively combined grey, blue and tan with emerald green, indigo blue, ochre and plum.

Lighter Fabrics
Spring is all about ditching your heavy wool suits and sport coats for lighter, more breathable ones. So, Coppley blended fine summer-weight merino wool with linen and silk, both natural fabrics that keep you warm but don’t retain moisture.

Their suits and pants in fine twill or soft plain weave, and jackets in open textured weaves lend a casual elegance to those warm summer evenings. Meanwhile, their softly constructed unlined jackets provide a distinctive lightness that is ideal for every summer occasion.

Coppley Spring 2015

As always, Coppley offers 450 select fabrics, so you are guaranteed to find a fabric you love.

Speedy Delivery
As always, Coppley will turn around your suit or garment in record time, without compromising on quality. They have expert tailors and craftsman working to ensure you get a garment that meets your high standards.

Come see for yourself what Coppley is offering this season at Christopher James Menswear in Fort Wayne.

The Newest Robert Talbott Collection is Available Right Here in Fort Wayne

As warmer weather starts to trickle in here in Fort Wayne, Ind., we crave ditching our heavy coats, structured suits and thick-soled shoes for clothes and accessories that allow for more irreverence and freedom. We are inspired to care less about formalities and to show our lighter, casual sides.

But, we still want to look sharp, of course.

This is why we love Robert Talbott’s Spring 2014 collection. It is the perfect combination of crisp and cool, and we’re excited to share it with the dapper men of Fort Wayne.

The brand has kept their classic patterns like the windowpane and houndstooth check, but colored them with earthier, more grounded tones like slate gray, tan, and dusty orange. “More organic colors are big this spring, and will be big all year, in fact,” says Chris Lambert, owner of Christopher James Menswear. He adds, “Robert Talbott has adopted this trend perfectly in their spring 2015 collection. They’ve delivered their signature statement blazer but with a timely spring 2015 twist.”

Of course, seeing it for yourself is better than us talking about it. So, here: take a peek at Robert Talbott’s spring 2014 collection:

The next step is coming into Christopher James Menswear and seeing this impressive collection for yourself.

Note: We are currently offering special in-store pricing on Robert Talbott items during our Spring Trunk Show, which runs until the end of the day today. So hurry in!

Our Spring Trunk Show is Happening Today!

WATCH THE TALBOTT VIDEO

Today, Christopher James Menswear in Fort Wayne, Ind. is hosting a spring trunk show, partly in hopes of making the warm weather come a little sooner, and partly (and most importantly) to show you new apparel from four top-notch designers that will definitely be big this season: Coppley, Scabal, Robert Talbott, and Allen Edmonds.

Here’s a little bit about the four brands we will be showcasing today:

Coppley

Few things are better than knowing you are wearing a suit that fits like a glove. If you want something tailor made, Coppley is the brand you want to work with. They are one of the best when it comes to made-to-measure suits. They have more than 500 luxury fabrics to choose from too. Come see what’s new with Coppley this season!

Scabal

Scabal manufacturers some of the rarest and most unique fabrics in the industry. If you come to our trunk show, you’ll be able to have a suit made with the Scabal fabric of your choice.

Robert Talbott

Spring is the perfect season for layering and mixing up colors and patterns, and Robert Talbott is the king of layering. Keep several Robert Talbott pieces in your closet and you won’t even have to think about what goes with what. See RT’s newest spring pieces today. (Also featured in the video above).

Allen Edmonds

What can be said about Allen Edmonds that hasn’t been said a million times? A.E. is the best in men’s dress shoes, beloved by presidents, popes, and businessmen across the globe. They are built to last, they look good, and you make better business decisions while wearing them. Okay, maybe that last one is conjecture, but who’s checking facts here? Anyway, CJM will be debuting A.E.’s newest, highest-quality dress shoes.

Special pricing is available on all these brands during the trunk show.

This a 3-day event, but our friends from these companies and hors d’oeuvres and adult beverages from Catablu, will only be available today from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

See you there!

What’s New for Peter Millar in Spring 2015

Spring is around the corner, gents, and we couldn’t be more excited for it. Not only will winter in Fort Wayne, Ind. be over, but we will have the new Peter Millar Spring 2015 collection in the store.

The 2015 spring collection by Peter Millar has taken the season’s classic pastels and given them earthier, more grounded tones. “More organic-looking colors are going to be really popular this year, and Peter Millar’s 2015 spring collection perfectly encapsulates the trend,” says Chris Lambert, owner of Christopher James Menswear. “For instance, their signature gingham shirt with the spread collar looks fresh with the earthier purples and greens,” he adds.

1-2 Oxford Pane in Parade and White; 3-5 Oxford Tattersall in Retro Pink, Patriot Navy and Parade.

Also big in the collection is linen, another new trend according to Lambert. “It’s linen but with a southern-aristocrat style twist,” he says of the collection’s linen shirts. Peter Millar is based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and its founder and creative director, Chris Knott, is a native North Carolinian.

Take a look: Peter Millar linen shirts in retro pink, liberty blue, parade and white.

We’ve said before on this blog that Peter Millar is aristocratic but not stuffy, and old-world elegant but modern day cool. It is the 12-year-old, single barrel bourbon, neat, of men’s casual and golf apparel.
